Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was founded on November 12, 1922 on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, by seven intelligent, hard-working, sophisticated, young school teachers. These women founded our great sorority on the principles of service, sisterhood, and scholarship. Unlike the other traditionally black greek letter sororities, Sigma Gamma Rho was founded on a primarily white college campus. Presently, there are more than 400 chapters in the United States and overseas. Sigma Gamma Rho strives to uphold the standards of excellence set by our founders. In everything we do, we carry ourselves with the highest level of sophistication, respect, dignity, and pride. |
